Services & Meetings

Sunday Evening Service

What's it for?

This is a time of worship for everyone

Who goes?

This meeting is very similar to our Sunday morning service except for the lower emphasis on children's activities. It is mostly attended by the adults of the church though children and young people are obviously most welcome.

What happens?

At 6:30, the service starts with general church notices of events and meetings, before the first hymn.

All songs are sung from an overhead projector, but feel free to ask at the door if you'd rather sing from a song book - there are plenty available.

As with the morning service there is no fixed order, but the general framework is usually broadly similar.

Typically, the first hymn will be followed by a prayer of worship to God together with a reading from the Bible. The second hymn is then often followed by a prayer for people and situations we bring before God. The third hymn typically is sung next followed by the sermon. Again, like the morning service, the sermon is expository (that is, teaching for today from the Bible passage read). The final hymn closes the service.

How do I know when to sit & stand?!

It really doesn't matter. There are no hard and fast rules, no set services, and no fixed order of service.

The outline above is fairly typical, but there are no rigid rules.

If you're ever in doubt, just copy the people around you!

When is it?

6:30 every Sunday evening.
