August BBQ

At the end of August we had our annual Church BBQ, this time at the home of Trevor and Tracey.

There were plenty of burgers, hot dogs and other goodies, and the sweets were especially delicious!

Hoylake Lifeboat Day 2008
Monday 25th August was the summer Bank Holiday, so the usual 20,000 or so visitors made their way up and down the prom to enjoy the amusements and see the displays, the cream of which was of course the Red Arrows.

We were there once again, with free activities for the children and information about us.

Summer Camp 2008!
This year's Summer Camp was no less wonderful than ever, and with a whopping 73 Campers we all had plenty to do all the time!

Quad Biking, rounders, tree climbing, archery... and not forgetting the rather chilly outdoor pool!

Bible teaching was led by Mike Davies and Matty Yeoul, and John Davies' "highly interactive" talk on the fall of Jericho was a real highlight!

For the video and photo's, see the Summer Camp page.

Church Walk
Each Spring most of the church take part in a Church Walk. This year we went to Royden Park and had a lovely time.

Most were able to enjoy the walk (even great for pushchairs) and some are suspected to have hopped aboard the steam train running through the woods...

Easter Egg Hunt 2008
Easter is as special to Christians as Christmas, and everyone is always welcome to talk about that with anyone at the church.

That said, there is always time for some fun too so this year (as always!) we had our Easter Egg hunt in Queen's Park, Hoylake.

Quite how some children manage to find soooo many eggs remains a mystery!

Church Weekend away
On the weekend of 14th to 16th March, the whole church went up to Grange Over Sands at the Southern edge of the Lake District for a weekend away together.

We all enjoyed ourselves immensely, and with our old friend Maurice Kinnaird leading the devotions it was a time of blessing all round.

Summer Camp Video Night
On the last night of January we held our Summer Camp Video Night to help us turn our thoughts to warmer days and another fantastic week at Quinta Hall near Oswestry.

The evening was a lot of fun as we remembered what we got up to in 2007 and looked forward to Summer 2008.

Over 30 people booked their place for this year, so get your bookings in quickly!

Friday Club Party 2008
As ever, we held our annual Friday Club New Year party in January where everyone from the Church joined with the teens of Friday Club for an evening of competition, food, and fun.

Take a look at what we got up to by clicking here!

Christmas 2007
Another Christmas has been and gone, and as always we're grateful to our Sunday School children for putting on such a wonderful nativity play.

Their efforts were rewarded by a visit from Santa himself!
