Accept it: You're a sinner

The Truth about yourself

Here's what the Bible says (in Romans chapter 3):

There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.

...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

God is perfect; you are not. God is holy; you are not. God makes the laws; you are subject to them.

It's unpalatable and old-fashioned to say it, but the Bible says it: be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell (said by Jesus in Matthew chapter 10)

And again, Jesus says in Luke 12: "Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him"

You might accept that you're not perfect, but recoil at being told you're a sinner? If you think you're doing "ok" or "more good than bad", hear what the Bible says again: Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

In accepting that you're not perfect, you're accepting that God will see you as a sinner.

And as we've seen from the Bible verses above, God won't tolerate sin so he won't tolerate you as you are.

If you disagree, you can't enter into a relationship with God as you have to be put right on his terms first.

So that's the first thing you need to accept: You're a guilty sinner heading for hell because you're not in a relationship with God on his terms. Click here for the next thing you need to accept.
